Hey, look, I know things are a mess. I took a hiatus from blogging and decided to switch up my design before returning. Please be patient, because if you can wait out the mess it means REGULAR POSTING WILL RETURN SOON! :D

Well, That Was...Interesting?

I tried blood oranges for the first time tonight.

Maybe I didn't get particularly good ones? They weren't all that great.

And, it has to be said, that eating a fruit that is practically black in color goes against ever instinct I have.

Oh, man, I love blood oranges with every fiber of my being. Seriously. It IS a little late in the season for them...so maybe they're not as good for that reason?

I have generally found that when they breed a food for a certain look, it ends up lacking in taste (think of red delicious apples, ewww!) I'm not sure whether blood oranges were bred or if they're natural, but my experience has always been that their taste is inferior to good ol regular orange oranges.
Of course, I'd rather have a grapefruit anyday anyway. :)

I think my favorites are Clementines. YUM! And they're SO easy to peel! More info blood oranges: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_orange
