Hey, look, I know things are a mess. I took a hiatus from blogging and decided to switch up my design before returning. Please be patient, because if you can wait out the mess it means REGULAR POSTING WILL RETURN SOON! :D

BATMAN!
Last Friday Adam and I saw The Dark Knight. Usually we wait until movies come to the dollar theater or DVD to see them...but there is no dollar theater in Medicine Hat and there was no way we were waiting to see Batman anyway! It was much darker than the first one, but also better! The Joker has to be the scariest/best/most disturbing/awesome villain I've ever seen in a movie. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is remotely interested in Batman. But I should also warn you that it is quite intense. It is PG-13 for a reason and I would insist you not take anyone younger than 13 to see it (too scary, too dark, almost too much for me). I'm keenly interested in what will happen in the next one and sorely disappointed that I have to wait quite a while to find out.

2 Stubborn Stains:
We saw it today and YES it was AWESOME. It amazes me how dark movies can be these days ... if something like that came out 10 or 15 years ago, it SO would have been rated R. Like if the Matrix came out now, it would be PG-13. And remember how Mission Impossible was like a cool fast-paced movie? I tried watching it a while ago and it felt SO slow and boring.
We were talking to our friends about it, and they said, "Yeah, maybe [fast-paced] movies are like drugs that you don't realize you're addicted until you try to scale back." Teehee.
Actually, the Matrix WAS slated to be PG-13. Then Columbine happened and they changed it. At least, that's what I've been told. It stayed PG-13 in Canada, but the ratings are pretty different here anyway.
I do agree with your friend though. People easily become desensitized to what they see when they see it enough. I think that's why the brethren council us to be careful about the media we partake of.

You know the signs in the zoo that say "do not feed the animals"? Yeah, well...consider this a sign saying "PLEASE feed the author's ego!" I love comments, LOTS and LOTS of comments! ;)
