Hey, look, I know things are a mess. I took a hiatus from blogging and decided to switch up my design before returning. Please be patient, because if you can wait out the mess it means REGULAR POSTING WILL RETURN SOON! :D

NaNoWriMo, an update

NaNoWriMo is going well…which explains why I’m not writing much here. ;)

Depending on if you trust Open Office, Google Docs, or the NaNoWriMo site I’ve written 14,250 words, 13,955 words, or 13,796 words so far. Unfortunately the NaNoWriMo site is the count that counts in the end {yes, I’m punny, deal with it}. But I’d much rather say I’ve written 14,250 words, wouldn’t you?

Either way, I’m pretty pleased. Just to put things in perspective for you, as of today, to be on target for finishing by November 30th I need to have 8,335 words written. Adam has challenged me to finish half-way through the month and then start editing during the second half. That would require writing 3,600+ words per day from now until the 15th. That’s over twice as much as the regular daily word quota. But I think I’m going to go for it. Writing is going waaaay better than I expected, even with Lucy out and about instead of trapped in my belly. And I’m enjoying my story so far.

And with that brief update I go back to my novel.

Are you doing NaNoWriMo? How goes it?

I'm glad to hear how well it's going for you! NaNo is treating me fairly well--it's a lot more challenging for me this year too, but mine's because I'm working AND teaching taekwondo, rather than a kidlet running around. =)

Keep it up!!

Oh my gosh Holly, that is AWESOME! Good for you!! What an awesome goal too, and I'm glad YOUR husband is supportive of it and doesn't think you're crazy... :)

I was going to do it but decided not to. Of course I regret it, but I just have so many other online/writing projects going on right now.. which is just another excuse I guess. I started the first night and just stood at the screen. I had NO idea what to write about.

Are you writing when she's sleeping or late at night? Or while she's playing or is Adam watching her?

Sometimes I write while Lucy is sleeping. Sometimes I write while the whole family is sleeping. Sometimes I write while she's playing happily by herself or with Adam.

Awesome. Actually I started yesterday and have 2231 words. It's fun, I got off to a slow start and then it just started flowing...I still wonder if I have the vocabulary skills it takes. I feel like I keep using the same words over and over and over. Anyhow, good luck!

My kids are doing NaNoWriMo. Our goal is 300 words (they are 3 & 5) and they are working on a collaborative story about a gnome who goes to the fair. Can't wait to see your finished novel. Sounds like it is coming along great!

Hello! I am sorry to do this in your comments, but I am trying to contact you in regards to using a photograph from your blog but your contact button doesn't seem to work for me. Could I please get your email? Thank you! You can contact me at selena.tatame at gmail. (To avoid the spam blockers... hehe.)
